BeVigil is a mobile app security search engine I led the UX design for as part of a 3-person core team, a product manager, a developer, and myself as the designer. The goal was to simplify mobile app security analysis, a process that was traditionally fragmented, technical, and only accessible to experts. Users needed a way to quickly assess app risks, find trustworthy security data, and act on it - all in one place.

We did the design process by collaborating closely with the PM to translate early product ideas and wireframes into high-fidelity screen designs. We began by mapping user journeys and setting up the information architecture, which helped establish a clear development roadmap for our engineer. Working in weekly sprint planning sessions, our 3-person team maintained tight communication and rapid iteration cycles. I designed contextual dashboards, intelligent search tools, and app reports using progressive disclosure and visual cues to reduce complexity while retaining technical depth. A key challenge was translating complex security terminology into user-friendly language - I crafted simplified copy and contextual help text that made technical concepts accessible to non-security professionals while maintaining accuracy.

Throughout the project, I ensured the interface was not only usable but also engaging. At later stages, I integrated Lottie animations into the UI planned from the start to bring motion to static screens, including onboarding flows, device scan interactions, and microinteractions. The animation assets were created using Adobe Illustrator for vector artwork and After Effects for motion sequencing before exporting to Lottie format. This added clarity and polish to the experience, enhancing both usability and perception of trust.

Motion Design & Interactions

Interactive animations were planned early and integrated toward the final design handoff to enhance clarity, delight, and user guidance.

The result: users reduced their analysis time by 78%, gained faster, clearer insights, and praised the platform for making app security accessible and efficient. This project demonstrates my ability to own UX end-to-end from strategy and wireframes to motion design and developer handoff - in a high-impact, cross-functional environment.
