A simple two-frame animation of Smiling Rick from Rick and Morty, created entirely in Figma.
I wanted to test Figma's animation capabilities with a familiar character, and Rick's distinctive smile seemed perfect for a minimal animation experiment. I started by studying Rick's character design from the show, then built him using Figma's vector tools. The animation uses just two frames - neutral and smiling - with smooth transitions between them.
The final animation captures Rick's characteristic expression in a clean, scalable format. It demonstrates how modern design tools can create engaging animations without complex software, making motion design accessible for designers who want to experiment with animation in their work.
